Pentair FreshPoint 3-Stage Reverse Osmosis

Reverse Osmosis (RO) System uses a semi-permeable membrane to reduce dissolved salts and minerals, improving the taste and odor of your water. The RO membrane is made of layers of micron-thin film wound around a hollow center core. Water molecules can pass through the membrane, but dissolved salts and minerals are rejected. The life of the filter cartridges depends on water volume used and the quality of the feed water.

It is recommended that the filter cartridges be replaced every 12 months, or when there is a noticeable.

  1. Chlorine Taste & Odor Reduction: Tap water passes through Pentair’s patented Diamond Flow technology – a combination of two technologies in one: a carbon block designed to reduce taste and odors, and a poly spun shell wrapped around the carbon block to reduce sediment and help protect the life of the carbon block.
  2. Contaminant and Impurities Reduction: Water then moves through the reverse osmosis membrane which reduces a broader range of contaminants and impurities found in your home water. The membrane separates the water containing contaminants and sends it down the drain while pushing the more pure water in to the next stage. Pentair’s patented Green RO (GRO) membrane reduces the amount of water waste compared to standard members in the market.
  3. Better Tasting Water: Water then passes through the final stage, a granular activated carbon (GAC) filter, which reduces any remaining contaminants while “polishing” the water to give you better tasting water. This water is then stored in a 3.2 gallon storage tank that hold the water until you are ready for clearer, better tasting water.

What happens if I don’t change my reverse osmosis filters?

Answer: Without regular care, contaminants will stay in your water that the system would usually filter out. Filters should be changed out every 12 months and the membrane should be changed out every 24 months. If filters go longer than 1.5 – 2 years you will notice your water is not pure and it could cause damage to the whole system.
